BLINK 01:16
I won't blink Show me the light Tell me your story Let me inside Here now Dear, now Right by your side As ever Kingly queen and queenly king Just tell me what you think Forever I won't blink Show me the scars Tell me your story Beneath this blanket of stars Here now Right now Just you and I to see to Save me Take my hand and Break my heart and Make me think I love you and I won't blink
2.
PEACE 01:05
Please let me watch the world disintegrate in peace Let me cling to the songs that I sing As it is, the fiction's easier to believe Please let me burn the world alive with some privacy Navigating the Sapien sea Each, uniquely guilty of needing to believe Please let me drown out the doubt with amenities Automatically tuned to my needs Better not to consider the reasons we believe I know the ending Please spare me the monologues between This is the golden age of nonsense It is just easier to believe So please let me watch the world disintegrate in peace
3.
ENOUGH 01:19
I know it takes time I wanna wrap you up Make you mine That's enough It takes time I know it takes time I know that life is tough I'll make you mine That's enough It takes time But I'll make you mine
4.
I'm happy for you Look at you two Laughing and thin Happy again Remember when you looked at me Just like you are looking at him? I'm happy for you Honest, it's true To what degree someone like me can be happy Catastrophizing and finding the facts to agree I guess I can commiserate with you Wearing your sadness like one of your dad's huge blue suits Time will heal the wounds if you let it But don't for a second assume you'll like time's methods Here's to you, my friend To your happiness Love is all there is And you've got so fucking much of it I loved you, you felt differently Sometimes a thing's too big to see It's how we learn Hurting and then getting on I'm happy for you Not happy too I can pretend it's not the end That now and then you think of me When you are looking at him I'm happy for you Happy-ish
5.
STAYING IN 01:09
It's madness today But I'm glad I can stay in with you Oh God, what a time Though it's awful At least I'm with you People, I adore you Please stay away We're in here and here we'll stay Just us two As we wait and see I am pleased I can be here with you As bad as it seems I am glad I can sing this with you
6.
Who you talkin' to? Say who you talkin' to? Say who you talkin' to? Say who you talkin' to? I talk, talk, talk I only talk about you That's all I want to do Just talk Baby, talk I want to talk to you That's all I want to do Let's talk I'll talk I want to talk about you Who you talkin' to? Say who you talkin' to? Say who you talkin' to? Say who you talkin' to? Let's talk Ooh talk I want to talk about you Who you talkin' to? Say who you talkin' to? Say who you talkin' to?
7.
I won't shoot the messenger I won't stiff the snake charmer I won't pull a rabbit from the top hat, baby I won't trick the arbiter I won't drink the sea water I won't render facts into opinions, honey I won't count my assets and I don't feel the acid yet Don't call the captain till I'm sunk completely I might be out of time I might be out of my mind Cause I'm feeling a little bit on the edge of it I can't blame my audience For preferring silence Over convoluted nonsense, honey I might be out of time Might be out of my mind I'm feeling a little like losing my appetite I might swear on anything I might eat these magic beans And if I'm falling, let me fly
8.
ONE DAY 01:45
Let's take it one day at a time Our little lives For better or worse We are as helpless to stop the tick of the clock As we ever were Things may never be the same That's nothing new To embrace the change is all we can do Someday I'll see you again Someday I'll see you Til then I'll take one day at a time I'll look for the light It's not hard to find We know we cannot control the bell's awful toll So we live our lives Taking it one day at a time One day at a time (We live our lives) One day at a time
9.
VINNY 01:57
Turn it up Let me sing to the chord progression I've heard enough From the bitter little fish-face of depression I'm burning up You can talk, but I might not listen I've heard enough It's evident we're taking up our old positions here I am talking to myself Did I look right at you? Maybe so Vinny Van Gogh in an awful falsetto If I'm talking to myself Don't make it about you every time Let's eliminate the paradigm Turn it up We can swim through the same old ocean I'll learn to love The idiotic grins we're holding, frozen, up We're in a rut I can talk but you never hear me You're packing up Gotta get a little nibble of anonymity I am talking to myself Did I look right at you? Maybe so Vinny Van Gogh in an awful falsetto If I'm talking to myself Don't make it about you every time Let's eliminate the paradigm
10.
Tossed Into uncharted swells Making the right/wrong choices Heading due West/East Right off of the map Lost inside this dull, gray Hell Cumulonimbus voices Bittersweet memories Spring like a trap I'm like the actor Trapped in the story Knowing the final chapter is bound to be gory Caught In claustrophobic times Ignore the circling vultures The world of right angles, nowhere around Taught To venerate this shrine to Psychosomatic cultures We're dredging the past up To watch it drown

about

This is the fourth volume in the SHORTS series, which ultimately spanned 50 songs and around 15 months from mid-2019 until mid-2020. I filmed myself recording the tracks, and posted the videos on our Instagram and Facebook pages. These mixed and mastered versions are being released in volumes of 10 songs, for a total of 5 volumes.

These songs were written and recorded around the start of the pandemic in early 2020, and are therefore focused somewhat on themes of isolation and loneliness.

That being said, I think ENOUGH is one of the catchiest tunes I've ever written, and not-coincidentally was written prior to the pandemic. Please enjoy SHORTS, VOL. 4 :)
